January review

Keep it up everyone, the drugery of January is over and it's all smiles for the forseable future. Parents thank you for dealing with your swimmers through these challenges your support is always appreciated. For those that find ways to fit everything in, January tends to be a very hard time and there are not a lot of smiles. This is normal and those that pushed to do this will reap huge rewards as long as they believe that their struggles were worth it. Please take the time to congratulate your swimmer for all they achieved at school and in the pool in the first half of the year. It is one thing to hear it from the coach but it is even more important that they hear it from home.

We had a very busy January, training was harder than ever and swimmers pushed through amazingly. Kam King stole the show for the local January meets with a fantastic 100%PB performace at Blue Bear while walking away with the 15 and over aggregate award. This was a huge step forward for Kam as we prepare into Senior Champs. January is a true test of a highschool athletes commitment to sport and time management and some swimmers are able to balance their lives to fit everything in better than others but every year you go through these struggles you learn something and are better the next time you meet this type of adversity so it was great for everyone. We left this mentally and physically taxing month with very little sickness which was great to see, I think that I may have been the sickest out of everyone (albeit for only 48 hours). Things are looking very good as we get into our February preparations for Westerns and Senior Championships.
